Currently I am working on a wordpress.org instead of wordpress.com blog. This will give me a lot more flexablibity in how I present this blog. I can’t use my home internet for a server, so I will let you know when I get things up and running. Until then, this is still the greatest blog ever.

I wrote a report on steroid use for my english class if anyone is interested in reading it.

Steroids Essay

I am reviewing this album as I listen to it, so it may sound a little weird the way I’m talking about some of the songs. Let’s start with the first track, shall we?

My Friend John- RATING ** This track is lacking some of the catchy riffs and other features that the first Fratellis album had. It’s not too bad of a song though, it kind of grows on you.

A Heady Tale- RATING ** I’m not so impressed with this album, yet to tell you the truth. The songs sound the same so far, and there’s not really a tune to follow. And I was so excited too.

Shameless- RATING **** I’m a little more impressed with this song. That’s all I’ve got to say.

Look Out Sunshine!- RATING **** This sounds more like the classic Fratellis that I’m used to. Not a bad song at all.

Stragglers Moon- RATING ** Eh.

Mistress Mabel- RATING ***** This is the stuff that I was looking for. A great song, and a good choice for the first single.

Jesus Stole My Baby- RATING ** Gotta say, this song bores me.

Babydoll- RATING ** This is so cliche it’s not even funny.

Tell Me a Lie- RATING ***** This song is solid work. Simple as that.

Acid Jazz Singer- RATING *** Not too bad of a song. It has a little bit of country in it, but it’s not a bad thing in this case. (I still don’t like country!)

Lupe Brown- RATING **** I don’t mind this song so much, but the album does seem to be getting a little repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, rep—sorry.

Milk and Money- RATING *** This song starts out really weak, but it builds in the middle and becomes fairly more enjoyable, but not enough to give it four stars.

OVERALL RATING 3.2/5
This album is a far cry from being even close to as good as their first album, which was freaking amazing. It’s quite disappointing, to say the least. Better luck next time, guys.

This was a post that I found on my friends Facebook profile, just wanted to comment on it. I will take this one chunk at a time. My comments are in italics.
This is a very long post, but well worth the read.

“There are those who say Obama isn’t ready…” Why do you think that is? Could it be that he actually isn’t ready?

“…or he’s voted wrong on this or that. But that’s looking at the trees and not the forest. What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change.” Change is a word that liberals like to throw around a lot. Everyone seems to want change, nothing is good enough. First, its, “We should go into Iraq!” (Kind of an old argument, but applicable noetheless.) After that it turned into, “What the F are we doing in Iraq, let’s get out!” What are we bored; do we need some different action? This is the only answer because I’m being told now, by liberals, that we should go intervene in Darfur, you know, help out the cause. Are we going to get bored from that in three months?

“My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate.” What does “Obama the Movement” mean? See, this is a major problem with these types of arguments. People tend to throw in junk or extra “filler” type words that seem to make an argument better, but in reality, it makes no sense. So, does “Obama the Movement” mean all the people that endorse Obama, or the fact that Barack can shake it on the dance floor?

“That is not to take anything away from this exceptional man. But what’s going on is bigger than him at this point, and that’s a good thing for the country. Because, when he wins in November…” So confident.

“…that Obama Movement is going to have to stay alert and active. Corporate America is not going to give up their hold on our government just because we say so. President Obama is going to need a nation of millions to stand behind him.” And I won’t be one of them.

“I know some of you will say, ‘Nick, what have the Democrats done to deserve our vote?’ That’s a damn good question.” Yes it is

“In November of ‘06, the country loudly sent a message that we wanted the war to end. Yet the Democrats have done nothing. So why should we be so eager to line up happily behind them? I’ll tell you why. Because I can’t stand one more [freaking] minute of this administration and the permanent, irreversible damage it has done to our people and to this world.” Dude, seriously, come on. Permanent damage in the world. If I’m not mistaken, we went into to help Iraq, and you ask any soldier who is currently serving or has served there, and they will say that most of the citizens WANT US THERE. So, don’t tell me that we have caused “permanent, irreversible damage.” That’s total bull.

“I’m almost at the point where I don’t care if the Democrats don’t have a backbone or a knee bone or a thought in their dizzy little heads. Just as long as their name ain’t “Bush” and the word “Republican” is not beside theirs on the ballot, then that’s good enough for me.” You made some good points up until here…this is where politics becomes a game. It’s not a game, it’s a country and over 300,000,000 peoples’ lives. To vote democrat simply because you want to see a democrat in power is totally absurd. If they don’t have a backbone then you OBVIOUSLY need to find another party!

“I, like the majority of Americans, have been pummeled senseless for 8 long years.” Specifically, how have you been pummeled? I think you’re life would be the same with or without Bush as president. Until the government comes into your house and shoots you, you haven’t been pummeled.

“That’s why I will join millions of citizens and stagger into the voting booth come November, like a boxer in the 12th round, all bloodied and bruised with one eye swollen shut, looking for the only thing that matters — that big “D” on the ballot.” This is the point where I am starting to get a little upset. Once again, it’s not a competition. If you go in there looking for democrats to vote for, and not candidates that represent you, we have a problem.

“It’s foolish to see the Democrats as anything but a nicer version of a party that exists to do the bidding of the corporate elite in this country. Any endorsement of a Democrat must be done with this acknowledgment and a hope that one day we will have a party that’ll represent the people first, and laws that allow that party an equal voice.” That is certainly NOT the case right now.

“Finally, I want to say a word about the basic decency I have seen in Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton continues to throw the Rev. Wright up in his face as part of her mission to keep stoking the fears of White America. Every time she does this I shout at the TV, “Say it, Obama! Say that when she and her husband were having marital difficulties regarding Monica Lewinsky, who did she and Bill bring to the White House for ’spiritual counseling?’ THE REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT!” Since we’re on such a jolly topic, why would you vote for someone who has gone to this outrageously inappropriate preacher for the past TWENTY YEARS? “Oh yeah, well he doesn’t anymore, so what’s the problem?” The problem is that he only stopped going to that church after his preachers disgusting face was plastered all over YouTube.

“But no, Obama won’t throw that at her. It wouldn’t be right. It wouldn’t be decent. She’s been through enough hurt. And so he remains silent and takes the mud she throws in his face. That’s why the crowds who come to see him are so large. That’s why he’ll take us down a more decent path.
But the question I keep hearing is… ‘can he win? Can he win in November?’ In the distance we hear the siren of the death train called the Straight Talk Express. We know it’s possible to hear the words “President McCain” on January 20th. We know there are still many Americans who will never vote for a black man. Hillary knows it, too. She’s counting on it.”

“OBAMA ‘08!!!”

Wow, I thought he had made some good points at first, but it just turned into garbage and making the whole election a game. So long as your party wins, you are content right? It’s absolutely ridiculous.

By the way, I don’t hate this kid or anything, I just happen to disagree with his political stances in just about every aspect. I’m just trying to voice my opinion as well. (Thanks for that too, it made for a good blog post )

Troublemaker- RATING **** A good Weezer song (compared to Beverly Hills or We Are All on Drugs). A bit repetitive, though.

The Greatest Man That Ever Lived- RATING ***** A great song that is different from stuff that they have ever done. Sounds a bit Queen-like if you ask me. This song doesn’t really have a chorus, so it reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Pork and Beans- RATING ***** This track is quality Weezer. The whole song is great. It reminds me of whatthey did on Pinkerton.

Heart Songs- RATING ** This song pretty much blows, but it is better than Butterfly from Pinkerton.

Everybody Get Dangerous- RATING ***** This song rocks, that’s all I’ve got to say.

Dreamin’- RATING **** Sounds like a classic Weezer song, although I could live without that lame slow portion in the middle of the song. Almost ruins it.

Thought I Knew- RATING *** Pretty boring and acoustic. Could live happily without it.

Cold Dark World- RATING *** Not too bad a tune, but not their best work either.

Automatic- RATING **** A great song with bizarre synth effects. The song is quite repetitive, but enjoyable nonetheless.

The Angel and the One- RATING ** Talk about a way to end an album. Man, this is not good work at all. I was extremely disappointed in this song.

This album certainly isn’t as good as Pinkerton or Blue, but it will suffice as better than their previous album. I bought this at Wal-Mart and they didn’t have any Deluxe Editions, so I will have to wait until my sister gets her copy from Amazon to rate the bonus tracks.

Are there parallel Universes? This is a difficult question to answer considering the various types of parallel universes one can be talking about. Of course, there is sting theory, which I honestly don’t buy into, but I do think that there are parallel universes. I had some interesting thoughts and discussions with friends and teachers last year on what black holes actually are. Now, I’m not a scientist (believe me) and I might sound like the dumbest person for even suggesting my theories, but they sure make sense to me. Be sure to comment and tell me where I’m wrong, or if I’m headed in the right direction.

Now, my knowledge of black holes is that they virtually “suck up” anything in their paths, but I don’t see where it goes, so here is where my theory comes in. What happens with everything (including light) is that a black hole is like the mouth to a wormhole and at the opposite end of that wormhole is what is known as a white hole. Except, unlike a vacuum cleaner, this is like a giant leaf blower that ejects whatever the black hole sucked up. This white hole is in another universe. A so-called worm hole (a tube the connects the white and black holes) has a way of getting from one universe to another, maybe through the fourth dimension. Many people suggest that the fourth dimension is time, so it could make sense that a black hole can lead to another dimension, or another time. Could this be the answer to time traveling? Am I a genius, or what?

Seriously, is this plausible or am I being ridiculous?

Tight- Are you kidding me? Well, maybe you should consider going on a diet if everything is too tight. My friends and me decided that if something was stupid we would call it “loose.” That didn’t catch on so well.

Dawg- This one makes you seem super-gay if you are white. Whoever came up with the word dawg either has a lot of pets, or was trying to insult their friends and then tried to poorly cover it up.

Insane in the Membrane- This need no explination whatsoever.

Hella- Dude, you are stupid beyong belief. What kind of flaming homosexual came up with this term? People who say this tend to be the type of people who smoke the reefer 24/7, so maybe it came about from people slurring their words.

LOL- This is annoying when people type it, but it’s even worse when people say it. I kid you not. And these freaks run around trying to convice you that they’re normal. Yeah right, losers! This is an absolutly unacceptable acronym to yell at people. If you wanna “Laugh Out Loud” then just friggin do it! Oh and by the way, if you think that lol means “Lot’s of Love” then you are an even bigger idiot.

Don’t get all mad if you don’t like it. This list is 100% accurate, and if you don’t like it, then you’re probably listening to the wrong kind of music.

Those stupid jerks with their SUVs are at it again. Pushing the environmental limits of the earth, and now Jupiter, too. Apparantly, there are two new red spots on Jupiter caused by heating of the planet, in recent years, near the equator. From what I hear, the greenhouse gasses escape through the gaping hole in our beloved ozone layer and head out in a tangent from earth. It just so happens that Jupiter was on the perfect timing of its orbit to intercept those gasses from the Chinese factories, our cars, lawn mowers, cows, and whatever else those tree-huggin’ liberals whine about. So I guess we need to start a new activist group dedicated to stopping global warming on other planets in our solar system.

By the way, if you bought the fact the humans were causing global warming on Jupiter, you may need to get your IQ checked. The point to my post actually is that climates on planets naturally change and that people should quit freaking out and should stop scamming people with their carbon credits. Also, I think the fact that Jupiter had three red spots is pretty cool.
